March 19, 2016: Have started my unplanned adventure. Will try to post as regularly as possible. Took a train to reach Kolkata from Maharashtra.
March 22: Bengalis are cultured. They don’t waste water, instead they use organic colour. They don’t throw colours without permission, unlike Maharastrians (including me). Most importantly, they put beautiful sari or dress on Holi. Visited Ravindra Sadan, cultural center of Kolkata.
March 24: I was staying with Bengali family Roy Choudharis in Kolkata. Thank you very much for giving me shelter and your kind hospitality. Now, I’ve learned to accept rice as staple food. Bengali food is really delicious. I love Misti ‘Dohi’ (Dahi) and deep fried brinjal. It is good beginning. Ready to shoot for next stop- Bolpur, Shanti Niketan. Chirantan Roychowdhury Somnath RoyChoudhury look forward to see you in Mumbai. Merci beaucoup
March 25: At Shantiniketan, I bought a new copy of Gitanjali and read it sitting under a mango tree where once upon time, Tagore used to teach his students.
Next stop- Silchar!
